Welcome to ‘Nittany Nation’. My study of the sights, sounds, beauty and splendor of downtown State College and University Park.
Stroll at your leisure thru my work and enjoy a quintessential summary of your State College experience.
Homecoming is in full swing, the Arts Festival is pulsing thru the streets and a full blown White-Out just hit Beaver Stadium.
Stop in the Adam’s Apple, Pickel’s, Doggie’s (The Skeller), Shandygaff, Saloon, Champs, Local Whiskey, The Phyrst , Lions Den or Cafe 210 and enjoy a beverage.
If the line happens to be too long, join Lavar and do the ‘Line Leap’.
If you will be staying over the weekend, check in to one of our great hotels such as the Hyatt Place, The Scholar and of course the Nittany Lion Inn.
When you are ready for dinner, try The Tavern, Allen St Grill, Federal Tap House, Ol’ College Diner and Highway or Canyon Pizza
Keep your eyes open as Celebrities abound. Look for Shane as he returns one of his Fiesta Bowl interceptions and Franco makes his Immaculate Reception!
Kijana, LJ, Lenny Moore, Curt Warner and Saquon are all tearing up the turf so stay alert. Join the festivities at Marcus Allen/Grant Haley’s Block Party or bring the house down with A-Robs amazing Catch?
The undefeated ’68 and ’69 team’s are still on a roll as their float moves near the front of the parade while the ‘Linebacker U float’
passes the Millenium Science Building and the ‘Floating Lion’ makes it’s way up College Ave. Keep an eye out for Chad Powers, State’s latest run on candidate…’Think Fast, run fast”.
Make sure to find John Cappelletti PSU’s lone Heisman Winner and don’t miss Keegan-Michael Key impersonating Coach James Franklin at the Downtown Theatre.
If you have time, go see the ‘Rosie Greer Show’ or talk acting with John Anniston, his daughter Jennifer or ‘Better Call Saul’s’ Patrick Fabian.
Join the Blue Band, Dance Team and Cheerleaders as the celebrate Coach Paterno driving the 2 National Champion Buses (’82 and ’86) near the center of the parade.
Make sure to wave to President Neeli Bendapudi and high-five Grand Marshall Olympic Champion David Taylor.
If shopping is your thing, you must stop by Spices Sporting Goods to see Anthony Adams, or hit the classics like Lions Pride, Jack Harper’s, Rapid Transit, Barefoot Shoes, the Student Bookstore or Family Clothesline.
If you can’t get enough of America’s best college own. Set up an appointment with Ty Burrell to explore some local Real Estate and pop in Lara Spencer’s antique shop for a classic momento.
Up on campus allow the memories to continue pouring in!
Visit Old Main and The Mall and say hello to the Willard Preacher. Get your photo on the Lion statue and say hi to Mother Dunn; PSU’s first All American linebacker.
Stay alert for spiked Volleyball’s coming from Rec Hall and stop in the Lorenzo Wrestling center to observe America’s best set of grapplers.
If you are looking for some exercise, join the Mifflin Streak and get some running in ! Afterwards, a visit to the Creamery should be on your list.
These are just a few of the items you may experience. Nearly all of the campus buildings are represented so find your College or your favorite spot. Spend some time in the Library’s or get outside onto the Hub Lawn.

Each collage in the series will correspond to one of the top 100 Beatles songs as voted by the fans on the Beatles Channel on Sirius XM. Lyrics of that song will be included in the collage making your piece truly one of a kind. For example: #1 of 100, “ A Day in the Life”, the lyrics were incorporated on many of the buildings along the pier head. For # 13 “Hey Bulldog” some of the lyrics as well as a billboard with a Bulldog were incorporated. Collect your favorite Beatles song!

Each collage in the series will correspond to one of the top 100 Bruce songs as voted by the fans on E-street Radio in the fall of 2019, and will have signage held by the fans in Times Square corresponding to the song matching that number in the series. For example: 1/100 Thunder Road, the fans will be holding signs that say Thunder Road. For 2/100 it will be Born to Run. 100/100 is Moonlight Motel. Collect your favorite Bruce song!
